Golden and Feeding San Diego have revolutionized the way hunger is combatted in San Diego County. Through cutting edge technology, the partnership has enhanced the Food Bank’s ability to provide direct services and enabled cross collaboration with over 160 partner organizations.

Charities often hesitate to adopt new technology given concerns about complexity and compatibility. Golden‘s volunteer management software addresses these issues, making integration seamless and user-friendly. Feeding San Diego, the leading hunger relief and food rescue organization in the county and the only Feeding America member in the region, aims to streamline food rescue to help reach more than 330,000 food insecure individuals in the area.

FSD relies heavily on volunteers and volunteer management to carry out its operations. Previously, the organization struggled with manual processes and disjointed technology. After implementing Golden‘s volunteer management dashboard, automation saved each volunteer at least 10 hours per week. Golden has a variety of features, facilitating volunteer – facing background checks, assisting organizations in meeting local and regional guidelines, and boasting a CRM created in partnership with Salesforce, Blackbaud, and Microsoft.

Newly empowered, Feeding San Diego has launched a community-wide web portal, allowing them to promote and track volunteer opportunities across more than 160 external partners, companies, and organizers collaborating to alleviate hunger. Partners have real-time access to their impact data, facilitating grant-writing and supporter engagement.

The partnership with Golden has also aided Feeding San Diego in recruiting more volunteers for its programs. Golden connects charities with corporations seeking to give their time through embedded Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Schools and community groups can utilize the platform to promote volunteerism & foster community organization.
