Texas, unfortunately, ranks second in the nation for food insecurity, and within Bexar County, an alarming statistic reveals that one in four children do not know where their next meal will come from.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Bill Waechter, CEO of Baptist Children’s Hospital, emphasizes the importance of such an event, stating, “An event like this is where we can look at outside people who need that help, particularly with inflation and factors out there, it’s a great thing people can pour their energy into and help kids.” The need for action is clear, and the health professionals are determined to lend a helping hand to those in need.Last year, the Baptist Health System made a remarkable impact by collecting over 18,000 servings of cereal. This year, their aspirations soar higher as they strive to exceed that number.
