Holiday Train Brings Joy While Supporting Local Food Banks

WAUWATOSA, Wis. — The holiday spirit was in full swing in Wauwatosa as crowds gathered around the train tracks, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Canadian Pacific holiday train. The excitement was palpable as a brightly decorated stage set the scene for a free concert that brought cheer to people of all ages.

“The lights and the music were really fun, and the kids loved it,” exclaimed Janice Summers, who was witnessing the holiday train for the first time. From little ones in strollers to those perched on the shoulders of loved ones, the holiday train’s festive performance rocked the hearts of the community.

“It definitely was a spectacular show,” added Summers, summing up the sentiments of the mesmerized crowd.

This holiday extravaganza was more than just a joyful spectacle; it was for a noble cause. The holiday train has a tradition of giving back to local food banks at every stop, encouraging others to join in the spirit of giving.

In the case of Wauwatosa, Canadian Pacific donated a generous $7,000 to Tosa Cares, a local organization dedicated to helping those in need. “There are so many people who need that help right now, especially during the holidays, so it’s an amazing gift,” said Lee Heinrich, marketing coordinator for the Village of Wauwatosa.

“It was amazing,” said Ryan Summers, also a first time spectator. “The crowds were really big, and it was really cool to see everybody having a good time.”

Newschopper 12 captured the heartwarming departure of the holiday train from Wauwatosa, leaving smiles and cherished memories in its wake. The train continued its journey, making stops in Hartland, Oconomowoc, and Watertown on that memorable night.
